Congratulations to our October PET of the Month!

George Washington was rescued in the winter of 2011 by Sr. Mary Winifred after he was abandoned by his owner in the woods in Cristfield Maryland.

He was very emaciated and fearful of people that he had to be captured in a dog trap. He was nursed back to health by Sr. Winifred at the Ascension Heritage & Sanctuary. Soon after he was adopted by the Newmark family.

His family says he is a very quiet and loving loyal boy which makes him a great companion for them. He will eat just about anything at any time but his favorite treat is pizza crust! Having lived the hard life of a hunting dog, he never learned about playing so he really doesn’t have a favorite toy. His family thinks he is a great example of an unwanted, abused animal that when given love and a chance, he has worked out to be a perfect, loving, and ideal pet. He has given his family a lifetime of love and appreciation. They love his cute little face.
